WellGo USA continues to churn out the best of Asian cinema. Their latest comes from international martial arts sensation Donnie Yen in Kung Fu Killer. Yen always delivers, but does this film live up to his previous films like Ip Man or will he finally tap out?

In the film a vicious killer who stalks the streets of Hong Kong, methodically executing top martial arts competitors. Xia, a convicted killer and kung fu expert, offers to help police find the killer and put him behind bars – in return for his own freedom. The killer eludes them again and again, taunting the cops – and Xia, his new target – to discover his next moves. Xia refuses to play his lethal game…until the killer threatens the woman he loves most. This is easily one of Yen’s best martial arts action films in some time. He always delivers on the action, but this one amps it up to deliver some great action alongside an interesting story to make the fights not only necessary, but important to the overall story. Yen takes on yet another gritty character that brings very little visual emotion, but his actions say everything. With any martial arts film you not only have to have great fight scenes and this one has them in spades, but also some creativity to them. This film kicks things off with a pretty impressive fight, but allows them to get better and better as the film progresses leading to an awesome highway showdown at the end of the film.

Yen has showcased once again why he is one of the best in the business with this film. He continues to take it to the next level with every film and shows no signs of slowing down. As if this movie wasn’t already awesome enough with the badass action sequences it features a who’s who of the martial arts film world in various roles as well as a making of featurette and a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Ip Man 3 starring Donnie Yen and Mike Tyson. Join the fight when Kung Fu Killer hits Blu-ray and DVD on July 14th.
