Ever since he was a child Ernie Reyes, Jr. has been entertaining audiences on both the small and big screen. While his most famous roles were in The Last Dragon and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles he appeared in so much more. His acting and stunt roles brought him fame but his was his role as a true martial artist that made him so much more.
At the age 10 he became the only child Black Belt In Sport Karate history to be rated in the Top Ten Black Belt Adult Kata. This was a huge feat on his part and changed everything 40 years ago in the world of competitive martial arts. He performed everywhere with the West Coast Demo Team spearheaded by his father Ernie Reyes, Sr. and they set the martial arts world on fire like never before. Outside of his successful TV and film career he also had a brief but successful fight career with Strikeforce with an undefeated record.
Now he is in the toughest fight of his life. Recently he experienced kidney failureand is now in ICU on dialysis awaiting a kidney transplant. This is no doubt going to rack up insanely huge medical bills and it’s time to give back to this young martial artist who has given so much of himself to entertain us for so long. A Gofundme campaign has been formed to raise money to assist Ernie in this horrible time and any little bit helps. Even if you cannot donate spread the word to as many people as you can.
The martial arts is a family first, so let’s come together and help one of our own and show the power and love within our worldwide family.
